About Me & My Counseling Practice
Jenn Harrington, LMFT
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
As a solution-focused therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
I received my Masterís degree in Psychology from San Francisco University. My clinical areas of interest and experience over the last ten years include dual diagnosis (substance use/abuse and mental health), eating disorders, victims of crime and trauma, PTSD, depression, child sex trafficking, and children of adopted and/or foster care homes. I have worked in residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient levels of care and am trained in dialectal behavioral therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Sand Tray, and Art Therapy modalities. As a previous teacher and a parent myself, I have a passionate place in my heart for working with adolescents and their families to realize their full potential and become reconnected with themselves and each other.
I look forward to working with you as you discover you and your path. Finding ways that inspire you and those around you. Learning how and the importance of taking care of yourself to be where you want and need to be. Supporting you to finally be accepting all of yourself!
Monday-Thursday with a few early evening appointments.
I am currently in the process of becoming a provider for several insurance companies, however providing out of network services until those become confirmed and private pay.
Please take a few minutes to fill out forms prior to our first session so all that time can be used for face to face consultation. If for whatever reason you are unable to, I will provide the forms and have you fill them out in the first 15 minutes of our scheduled time.
